I was amazed to find that many of my “problems” - such as my deep feeling of failure and unattractiveness - actually stemmed from feelings of Inferiority and low Self Esteem.

On the surface, even to myself, I always appeared confident, strong, able and outgoing. A bit of a leader, many would have said, including myself.

It was only when depression hit me badly and I had to sit looking at and into myself, that I began to uncover almost all, if not all, of my “motivation” was coming from pitting myself against this person or that.  As if being “better” than that “excellent person” made me excellent too!

The work on just settling for being the best ME I can be is a long haul but one worth undertaking, I’m finding.  The amount of internal and mental pressure I’ve been relieved of already is phenomenal.
