I’ve been blushing for as long as I can remember, and everytime someone points it out I feel redder and hotter. Even when I’m not embarrased (which seems to happen often) then I can just feel my self trun red, and once I’ve started thinking about it and wondering if people can see it, it gets worse. It’s especially bad when I’m around people I may be a bit attracted to. I also feel like It’s holding me back from things I would love to do, such as be in a school play, be able to play guitar and sing in front of people instead of a corner in my room all alone, and be able to live life to the fullest with out having to worry about having a face the color of a cherry! I really am an outgoing person and I live for trying new things, I like always having a smile on my face and making people laugh, but sometimes I feel like I’m hiding that from people becuase I’m to afraid to start blushing and getting to RED! It really frusterates me and I’ve been searching for an answer, hopefully you have what I’m looking for!
thanx for the 5 tips you’ve given.i felt good while going over it bt wen it comes to practical application none of them seem to work because my inner voice repeatedly tells me tht i am going to blush n then im blush .tried a lot bt cannot ignore it.help
I suggest you repeatedly visualize being in the kinds of situations where you might typically blush and strongly and repeatedly mentally rehearse feeling cool and calm in this way. You are right it’s easier to program your mind to instinctively been different than to try consciously to change.
Having said that I recommend you also re-read the stop blushing article until you’ve really made it part of you so that the ideas within it start to come to mind automatically when you need them. All the best, Mark
I just came across your website and and EXTREMELY thankful i found it. This has been a problem for about 6 years, and i am now 22…I just had a blushing episode, even today, and it seems to be getting more progressive. It’s so depressing that people, even family think i am a quiet (antisocial) person, in my mind i am NOT. My dad even said to me, “what happened to how full of life you used to be?”. I just broke down and cried…Anyways, i tried to self hypnotise, and was just curious how long you think this may take for me to master, because i am desperate and on the verge of buying pills…
The way we can teach our unconscious mind to change the the responses in the body is truly amazing. I suggest you really have a go at using self hypnois at least for a few weeks. You are really looking for two results: Firstly of course you want to actually blush less often and less intensely and secondly you want to care less if it does happen. When you find yourself caring less about it then it tends to happen much less too
