Thank you for these helpful tips! When I read the counter-thought, “I’ve had this thought a thousand times and there’s been no reality behind it”, it really made me stop to think, “Wow! I have had the same obssessive thoughts for 20 years and no matter how many times I change my compulsions to fight the thought, the thoughts still come back!” Thanks for helping me see reality and I now look forward to my journey of living a life where I can learn to manage these negative thoughts!

Thank you so much! I kept trying to find good tips on how to combat obsessive thinking. Mine has to do with reliving over and over hurtful experiences and not being able to let go. I’m very emotionally sensitive and it’s easier for me to latch on and I had read that your brain picks these things because they are upsetting. So, I have a hair band around my wrist and it’s really helping. Plus some meditation. Thanks again!
