Thank you for covering this issue!

I faint almost every time I have routine blood tests, yet I (like David) have a sincere desire to be a regular blood donor.  After fainting on my first attempt, the red cross told me I would be blacklisted as a donor if I fainted on my next.  Thus, I am waiting to try again until I am sure I can hack it.  smile

A long time ago, I eliminated a bad habit through hypnosis (and the anchor technique), and recently I tried to eliminate my fear of needles by desensitizing myself with youtube videos.  Unfortunately, because I didn’t combine the anchor technique with the videos, the result was simply my tormenting myself with stressful visual stimuli.  It’s not too surprising that I didn’t keep it up.

I will try again, this time focusing on the positive anchor and cultivating good/calm feelings while watching those videos.  Thank you again for this advice!  smile

I hate getting needles, mainly coz i got bad veins. Im a nurse, and until last year I was fine giving them. It was when a student walked very close to me with a used needle that i became needle phobic. A few days later i developed OCD thoughts with blood and needles. I tried to ‘get over it’ but after a few wks i couldnt work.
The various pros ive seen say ive got a contamination phobia…. I would love to get back to nursing so i dont have this anxiety, and i feel that like i could ‘flip the switch’ and make it all go away, but then the obsessive remuniations come back and they make me question stuff and that gets me panicky…

I hate how this has ruined my life and a great career!
