It’s a curious thing that civilization - society - has changed radically over the last ten thousand years, but the human body - our need to exercise, to move, to be active - hasn’t changed for thousands and thousands of years before society ever arose. So many of us are inactive and so many of us also over-exercise and become stressed and strained because of that. Good exercise practice really means exercising just the right amount. It should be fun, sustainable, and absolutely healthy, so that we’re not stressing the system.
So contrary to popular belief, we don’t have to spend hours and hours and hours running fast down the gym. Walking every day for twenty minutes to half an hour; occasional fast bursts of activity like sprinting or cycling hard, but not too often; and lifting, weight-bearing exercise, is really the perfect combination.
